L.B. Wallace commit. The senior continues to stack outstanding showings in the box with each look this spring. Big-time strength in the physical 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame with real impact in the barrel. The RHH picked up four hard-hit barrels for knocks with a pair of double and two singles as well. Lunsford creates excellent length and separation from a well-connected RH. Ability to catch the ball out front consistently with strength in the hands/wrists from an on-plane path. Stays well-balanced in a slight hanging while transferring weight well through the zone with very minimal wasted effort throughout. Lunsford made a real impact in the heart of the order across a series split and will look to stay hot in a must win game 3. Power is present but the feel to hit regularly stands out and Lunsford has a real chance to make an impact when he steps on campus from day one.

The quality looks at the Lurleen B. Wallace commit continue to stack up this Spring. The Locust Grove third basemen caught barrels across all games Thursday & Friday as everything off the bat was 100 +. Armed with present tools and immense strength in the physical 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame. In the box, Lunsford creates excellent length and separation with minimal wasted effort from the potent RH cut. Above-average bat speed with strength in the hands/wrists stand out and huge impact at contact backed by present accuracy in the barrel while delivering a flat barrel through the zone. Lunsford also showed well on the mound Friday afternoon as well. Provided a deceptive look from a low-slot with whippy arm speed and feel for the entire mix. Fastball showed heavy sink at 88-89 (T90 MPH) and the changeup played extremely well at 80-82 with the ability to go R/R at will as it tunneled off the fastball with diving action. Slider was mixed in at 75-78 with depth and some ability to manipulate shape. Lunsford brings pivotal two-way production and will be a vital piece in what looks to be a deep playoff run for the Wildcats in ‘26.
