Hawaii’s King of Spin successfully defended that title and once again was #1 in Trackman Spin Rate Max (3041) ripping off some tight/late SL’s that induced bad hacks/chases. Iwanaga also was #1 in TrackMan velo (91.3mph) and showed feel for CHG. Prep Baseball Hawaii’s #3 ranked 2025 and UCLA commit is a priority for MLB scouts to see next spring as the #1 prep arm in the class.
1/07/24
6-00/160...lean w/+body projection...excellent arm action, quick/very loose arm with zero effort, up to 89 in this look, has been up to 91, not worried about velo as it likely will increase with natural strength gains, up to 93-94 not far-fetched to project for spring 2025 & could make another jump in velo in college or pro ball...plus feel for spin, late finish to both CB & SL, approximately 2500+ spin via Trackman, CB is a short/tight downer, SL is harder version of CB w/tilt and width, both likely end up plus...split is 3rd pitch, flashed makings of a quality pitch with impressive command, looks like a future swing-n-miss pitch vs LHH's...strikes come pretty easy, RHS future...great get for BYU...on MLB scout radar for July 2025 as potential MLB draft.
