3/11/18- 6-foot, 215-pound left-handed hitting 2-way player. #16 player in Iowa 2019 class. Recent U. of Iowa commit. Stocky strong durable build with solid athleticism. High tuck and turn at balance point, high ¾ arm slot, heavy cut action on fastball and changeup. Shows ability to drive baseball downhill. 1/7 shape on breaking ball with depth. Fastball was 87-89 mph; touching 91 mph. 7.35 runner. Body load, rhythm in hands, above avg. present strength, strides across body cutting off lower half occasionally, line drive swing plane with lift through contact, 92 mph exit velocity. Sure hands, moves well around bag, solid receiver on throws, well above avg. arm for position, 86 mph arm across field.
7/31/17- 6-foot, 215-pound left-handed hitting 2-way player. On mound; short turn into balance point, coils over rubber, compact arm action, has strength and hand quickness. Fastball was 84-88 mph, with varying action, and avg. command around zone. Curveball varies from 12/6-1/7 shape, thrown with good hand speed, and shows hard late break. 4.58 runner. Present strength, body load, produces above avg. bat speed from lower hand slot, lift in swing plane, shows power to pull side gap, flashes of loud hard contact, 92 mph exit velocity. Sure hands, solid around bag, sound receiver, well above avg. arm strength for first base, 85 mph arm across field.
3/5/17- 6-foot, 215-pound left-handed hitting 2-way player. Strong durable build, limited use of front side, clean H3/4 arm action. Plus movement on fastball with late run at 85-87 mph for strikes. Breaking ball has good depth with 2/8 shape. Changeup is very firm; and will have to continue to develop feel for pitch. 7.65 runner. Choppy rhythm, present strength, shows power potential to gaps, can drive oppo gap, occasionally off-time, hard contact, 91 mph exit velocity. Usable glove, active fielder, solid range, avg. footwork around bag, 82 mph arm strength.
