8/5/18- 6-foot-4, 175-pound right-handed pitcher. #25 player in current Iowa 2019 rankings. Long lean frame. Shows solid body control and athleticism on mound, compact arm action, flashes of quickness out front. Fastball was 83-85 mph with flashes of late cut action. Hard late break on curveball with 12/6 shape. Late run and sink on changeup thrown at fastball arm speed for strikes.
3/11/18- 6-foot-4, 170-pound right-handed hitting pitcher. Yates has a long, skinny frame at 6-foot-4, 170 pounds. His arm action is long and clean, and he gets late arm-side life to his fastball, which is thrown for strikes. The breaking ball varies from 12/6 to 11/5 with tight rotation, depth and sharp break. He gets well-above-average fade and sink to his changeup, which is thrown at fastball arm speed. He consistently shows the ability to pitch and is ultimately 20 pounds away from being a high-level college prospect in the Midwest.
3/5/17- 6-foot-3, 160-pound right-handed pitcher. Lean lanky frame. Simple turn into controlled balance point, stays over the rubber, long loose arm action with some effort in release. Fastball was 83-84 mph with occasional run and sink action. Breaking ball has high spin, 11/5 shape, and thrown consistently for strikes. Threw one of better changeups at event with above avg. action, fade and feel.
