1/6/2019: Connor Young, RHP/SS, Silver Creek HS, 2020, 6 foot 3, 180 pounds, throws from a short quick arm action from a arm slot and low front side. Fastball was 78-81 with some arm side run. Curveball was 11/5 shape at 66-69 mph. Change up showed good fade life at 73-74 mph. At the plate, Connor hits from an open stance and uses a small hand load to get ready to hit. That hand load is early and he carries them forward which limits his separation. Recorded a max exit velocity of 7.41.
2/17/18: 6-foot-3, 180 pound right-handed pitcher sat 77-80 with the fastball. Breaking ball has early, gradual break in an 11/5 shape at 64-65. Knuckleball was 65-67 with some late tumble. Delivery has good pace, average effort. Shoulders in line, lands squared. Low front side, average arm speed. Big frame should see a velocity bump as he matures. In the box, he has a low hand setup with smooth load. Above average bat speed, creates some lift at contact. High exit velocity of 81.
