6/18/14 - 6-foot-6, 230-pound prospect, arm action is long and loose and works with minimal effort through a high ¾ arm slot, fastball sat 81-83 mph touching 84 and he throws it downhill well, slider has gotten harder over the past year at 76-77 mph with late bite, very good arm action on 74-76 mph changeup that shows good sink and fade, gave up a single to the first hitter he faced and then struck out the next four, would expect velocity jump from Givens in the near future as he continues to work on his body.  As position player shows decent athleticism for size with soft hands, accurate throws starting the double play, 75 mph arm strength.  At the plate, hits from an open setup, squares front side with a toe tap, arm bar creates some length in swing but gets the barrel through with strength and lower half torque, good round of batting practice consistently barreling up the baseball with some pull side power, showed bat speed with 90 mph tee exit velocity, ran 5.08 down the first base line.

 
2/18/13 - Givens is a 6-foot-5, 220-pound RHP with big upside on the mound.  He shows repeatable mechanics and long/loose arm action through a high ¾ arm slot that produced an 81-83 mph fastball with good life and arm side run.  He shows good command of a 70-73 mph slider that breaks hard with good 2-plane action.  His also shows good command of a 72-73 mph changeup that shows some arm side run and sink.  Givens shows feel for all 3 pitches and is a definite prospect to watch in the class of 2015 with the potential to be a high-level pitching prospect.  As position player, hands are ok, heavy feet, accurate arm, 74 mph across the field. At the plate, starts with balanced, wide base, bars arm in load, no stride approach, long swing path, can incorporate more lower half torque in swing, 83 mph tee exit velocity,
