Parkland Scout Day: Six-foot, 195 pound strong bodied righty. High effort, out of sync delivery with a long stride and well across body landing led to some control issues with 88-91 mph fastball from a 3/4 slot. Missed up to his arm side consistently with 77-80 mph slider, yet pitch had tight spin and the same release point as his heater. Likely to have much more effectiveness in the future, just didn't show as well on this look.
2/11/18 - Max FB: 86, FB: 84-85, CB: 69-70, CH: 72-74 Will see ranking climb in updated 2019 rankings 6-foot, 168-pound RHP with athletic frame and projection. Has added 10 mph to fastball in 18 months. Loose arm. Over the top slot. Has some tilt to fastball and locates it well at the bottom of the zone. Late break to 12/6 curveball with some depth. Has feel for a solid changeup thrown with good arm action. Still appears to have not reached ceiling and wouldn't be surprised to see a jump into the high-80's this spring. A definite high follow in the 2019 class.
9/18/16 - Max FB: 76, FB: 75-76, CB: 63-64, 5-foot-10, 138-pound RHP with slender frame and plenty of room to mature and fill in, uses a long windmill type arm action and works through a high-3/4 slot, fastball is straight and consistently thrown for strikes, shows feel for his curveball with gradual 11/5 break and some depth, strike thrower who pitches to contact, should see velocity development as he continues to physically mature. 9/18/19 - Home-1st: 4.84, Position Velocity: OF-77, Exit Velocity: 70 5-foot-10, 138-pound LHH hits from a balanced somewhat narrow stance, mid-length stride, short path to the ball, lacks extension at times, line drive type hitter will benefit from added physical strength. Sets up well and works through fly balls, long and slower release from a high-3/4 arm slot, average arm strength and accuracy currently.
