6-foot-2, 160-pound RHH hits from a balanced stance, short stride, does a nice job of keeping the barrel in the zone a long time, produces consistent mid-field contact with good feel for the barrel, has potential to develop some power. Has defensive ability to play both first base and outfield, works through the ball well with average arm strength, soft hands play well at first base and moves well around the bag. Kirkland is one to watch in the 2019 class.

6-foot-1, 160-pound RHH, slightly open stance, mid-length stride, slight hand load, engages lower half well and finishes through the baseball with good extension, line drive type hitter with gap to gap approach, has some power potential with added physical strength, went 2-for-4 in game play with a triple. Shows ability to play through the baseball in the outfield, arm strength continues to show some improvement, long over the top release with some carry to throws. Kirkland is a young prospect to keep an eye on.
7/5/16 - Max FB: 77, FB: 74-75, CB: 64-66,
6-foot-1, 160-pound LHP with long/lanky frame, loose arm that works through a high-3/4 slot with long arm action, good direction to the plate, strike thrower, fastball has occasional arm-side run, curveball has good spin and solid 1/7 action in the strike zone, allowed two hits to the first two batters he faced then settled in nicely, struck out two (both swinging on CB) in his two innings of work. Kirkland has shown a jump in velocity with potentially more to come.

1/24/16 - Max FB: 71, FB: 69-71, CB: 60-62, CH: 64-67,
6-foot-1, 160-pound LHP with long/lanky frame, arm action is loose and works through a high-3/4 slot, fastball is mostly straight and thrown for strikes, throws a solid curveball for age with good depth and 1/7 action for strikes, arm action is good on changeup though he had a tendency to miss up in the zone with it. With his frame and arm action, Kirkland will be a young lefty to watch moving forward.

As a position player, hits from a balanced stance with a short stride, shows above average bat speed for age and creates some lift at contact, occasional arm bar creates some length in swing but still got the barrel through the zone consistently, should continue to develop some power. Does a good job playing through the ball defensively with soft hands, uses a big crow hop and long arm action, over the top release produced average arm strength for age. Kirkland is definitely a 2019 prospect to keep an eye on.
