6/18/14 - 5-foot-11, 175-pound prospect with athletic frame, plays through the ball well with athletic feet, clean exchange with throws at 77 mph from over the top arm slot, some stiffness in arm action but throws were very accurate on the third base bag.  At the plate, Simpkins continues to show major strides and he has developed some power over the last year, slightly open setup with a short stride, good hip torque in swing, creates some lift with backspin carry of the baseball showing some power to all fields, consistently squared up the baseball in his round, flashed his speed running an event best 4.02 down the first base line from the left side, 88 mph tee exit velocity, went 2-for-4 in game play with a single off the pitcher’s glove and opposite field single, solid 2015 OF prospect.

2/16/14 - 5-foot-11, 174-pound prospect with athletic build, displays athletic feet in the outfield and plays through the ball well, longer arm action through over the top slot, top velocity of 74 mph.  At the plate, the left-handed hitter hits from a tall set up with short stride, shows some hand quickness, good balance, has made big improvements in use of lower half and finish through the ball, line drive type hitter that uses his speed well from the left-side of the plate, ran 6.98 60 but have seen 6.75 on a fast track at previous event, present arm strength best suited for left field at the next level, showed big increase in tee exit velocity to 91 mph (80 at previous event).

7/9/13 - 5-foot-11, 168-pound, left-handed hitting prospect with athletic build, showcased good speed with a 6.88 60 yard dash (6.75 at previous event), athletic feet, plays through the ball, throws registered 74 mph (77 mph previous event).  At the plate, hits from a balanced setup, short stride, hands show good quickness, tends to cut off lower half and has a mid to opposite field approach, has a chance to be a solid player at next level with continued work on swing and arm strength, registered 80 mph tee exit velocity.

6/11/13 - 5-foot-11, 168 pound prospect, good speed, ran 6.75 60 yard dash, moves well, throws registered 77 mph from the outfield.  Offensively the left-handed hitter hits from a balanced setup, short stride, good balance, gets some lower half involvement in swing but can benefit from more, quick hands create moderate bat speed, registered 81 mph tee exit velocity, showed good contact with 2 hits in game play and used his speed to beat out an infield single as well.
