8/8/15 - 6-foot-1, 305-pound right-handed hitter hits from a balanced stance with a short stride, has strength in swing and show pull side power, 84 mph exit velocity off the tee, ran 5.69 down the line, went 1-for-4 in game play with a home run to left-center and two strikeouts. Defensively, shows capable hands, slow footwork with limited movement, 76 mph velocity across the infield. With some work on his body, Volz has some potential to play at the next level.
As a pitcher, works through a high-3/4 arm slot with long arm action and some effort in delivery, fastball sat 79-81 mph topping at 82 with occasional slight sinking action, 70-72 mph curveball showed consistent 11/5 action, also showed a changeup that varied from 72-76 mph, showed some feel for secondary pitches, allowed no hits, walked two, and struck out two (one on FB, one on CH) in his one inning of work.
