One of the biggest breakout stories of 2025, Jack Lee skyrocketed from an under-the-radar name to an LSU commit in a matter of months — so naturally, his first outing of the 2026 season was a must-see. The Trojans deployed him out of the bullpen on Opening Night against Haughton, and Lee delivered a composed, efficient performance. He worked 3.2 innings, allowing just two hits and no earned runs with one walk and seven strikeouts, throwing 69 pitches with 44 strikes. Lee attacked hitters with confidence, leaning heavily on an 87-91 mph fastball that played up thanks to true riding life through the zone. The pitch consistently missed barrels and generated swing-and-miss at the top of the zone. He didn’t need to go deep into his secondary mix, but his mid-70s curveball and 79-80 mph changeup — both of which have shown quality in previous looks — remain viable weapons. It was a strong first statement of the spring from one of the state’s premier arms, and a reminder that his rapid rise last year was no fluke.
