Gagne is a 6-foot, 193 pound right-handed hitting corner infield prospect. He hits out of a wide, square stance, with the hands set just off the back shoulder. The swing begins with a big leg kick to stack the weight over the back leg and a pushing back of the hands. The swing plane is direct through contact, yielding an exit velocity of 92 MPH during the batting practice.

Defensively, Gagne was still recovering from a shoulder injury and did not throw at this event. He did participate in fielding ground balls. The feet are light and allow him to get into an athletic fielding position. The hands are soft transitioning through the ground ball into the throwing position.

Gagne has definitely done some work in the weight room this winter and it shows. The bat-speed and pop at the plate are evident. He also continues to develop as an infielder.

6-foot, 193-pound right-handed hitting corner infielder and pitcher. He ran a 6.81 sixty at the event. Positionally, he showed well again, the glove plays and the feet continue to improve as he matures in age. The feet are active and he threw 71 mph across the diamond. The bat has an exit velocity of 94 mph. The setup is even in base and the front foot is lifted and put down  as the ball approaches the hitting zone. The hands produce a flat swing that gets uphill as he gets into contact with the baseball. On the mound, the fastball sat 76-77 mph with arm side run to it. The spin pitch is 67-68 mph and big in shape. The changeup is 68-69 mph and shows action and fade. The delivery is online with the feet and the slot is above 3/4 in height. The lift is solid in tempo and he pulls the glove across the hitters face. The mentality is aggressive in approach. The arm works freely.

The setup is even in base, and he uses a pick up and put down of the front foot as the ball approaches the hitting zone. The path is slightly uphill to contact and the hands work free with the barrel. On the mound, the fastball sat 75-77 mph minimal arm side run to it. The spin pitch is big in shape, sitting at 67-68 mph. The changeup is a developing pitch for him. The delivery is online and the slot is above 3/4 in action. 6-foot-194-pound, strong, solid athletic frame. Showing strong wrists and hands. A right-handed hitting, corner infielder. At the plate, feet are even at shoulder width, hand set is lower, titled set up, quiet hands. The swing is short to the baseball, hands are inside, spraying it from gap to gap. For timing uses a bigger leg kick, which helps supply some power to the swing, the exit velocity was clocked at 86 mph. Runs well, ran a 7.08 sixty-yard dash. Defensively, the arm was clocked at 79 mph across the diamond. Short clean arm action working from a natural slot. The glove is super soft, feet are spread out is wider and balanced on the catch. Moves well to both sides, clean double play starts. The arm has enough strength to stick on the left side, big follow for me, need to see hm.

Gagne has a strong 6-foot, 190 pound frame.  The right-handed hitting infielder had an exit velocity of 78 mph off the tee.  He hits out of a square base, with relaxed hands and good pre-pitch rhythm. The load is triggered with a leg kick and a pushing back of the hands.  As the swing begins, the bat-head whips through the hitting zone on a flat path. The hand-speed is evident and produced a lot of loud contact. As he makes contact, he does a nice job of staying on plane well through the finish.

Defensively, he was 72 mph across the diamond.  He shows fluid actions and a quick arm. Pre-pitch the feet are active.  Once the ball is hit, he glides to a good position to breakdown behind the ball.  He gets into a balanced fielding position, with the glove in a relaxed position out front.  The hands are soft as he transitions from fielding to the throwing position and he creates a good line with the target.  The feet work through the play, with a quick arm-swing and he finishes through the play.

I like Gagne’s skill-set.  The actions are fluid in the field and the bat has a chance.

The 5-foot-11, 175 pound right-handed hitting infielder had a tee exit velocity of 84 mph.  The stance is athletic and he showed good balance with the swing.  He also flashed some serious bat speed.  Leading to a lot of hard line drives.  He also ran a 7.3 sixty. In the infield, the feet are light and the glove is soft.  He moves well laterally and gets into a good throwing position after working through the ball.  The arm was 72 mph across the diamond. On the mound, he uses a clean ¾ arm slot to work 72-73 mph with the fastball.  The breaking ball has good spin at 60-62 mph. He does get a little quick down the mound, which cause some elevation with the fastball and gets under the breaking pitch.

5-foot-10, 155-pound right-handed hitting third baseman. Ran a 7.82 sixty at the event. The glove is solid in the field, working through the ball with his feet need to improve with maturation. Threw 65 mph across the diamond, an off-season throwing program would help increase the arm strength. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 71 mph, as physical strength gains are warranted. The set up is wide in base, the path is long to contact. Uses a knee to knee approach on the bottom half as the ball approaches. The hand load is minimal and the front leg is flexed at contact.

5-foot-9, 150-pound right-handed hitting third baseman. Threw 69 mph during the infield portion of the workout. The glove is soft and the feet work athletically. Ran a 7.74 sixty at the event. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 65 mph, added physical strength is key to aid the development of the bat. The stance is wide in base, toes turned in to start. The hands drop as the swing is initiated. The path has length to it for that reason. The plane is flat to the ball. The hands work freely so adjustments should be simple.
