We would like to thank all who participated in The PBR New England 2021 Scout Day: Evolution Baseball. This was a great opportunity for 2022-2024 prospects to be put on college recruiting boards. Many players impressed during their individual workouts at the showcase. Below we have the complete statistical results from the event as well as the top performers across various different categories.

2021 Scout Day: Evolution Baseball - Quick Hits

THE BATS

  • Brady Collins, RHP/OF, R/R, St. John’s -Shrewsbury, 2023 - Collins uses quick hands and good leverage with his swing to generate solid gap to gap juice.
  • Evan Cornelius, RHP/C, R/R, Milford HS, 2023 - Cornelius is a big, physical kid that showed some serious power. The swing is balanced and the hand-speed is evident.
  • Jason Flaherty, C/OF, R/R, Worcester Academy, 2024 - Flaherty continues to get stronger. The young back-stop had a loud batting practice.
  • Andrew Gardner, SS/2B, R/R, St. John’s - Shrewsbury, 2022 - Gardner’s athleticism is evident at the plate. The swing is balanced and the bat-speed is definitely evident.
  • Matthew Lussier, OF/2B, L/R, Wellesley HS, 2022 - Lussier has done some work this offseason. He’s added some additional strength and it shows in his swing.
  • Michael Tonelli, 2B/3B, R/R, Worcester Academy, 2022 - Tonelli has a quick bat! His batting practice produced a lot of loud line drives.

THE ARMS

  • Mavrick Rizy, RHP/1B, R/R, Worcester Academy, 2024 - Rizy was impressive! Some mechanical changes have freed up his arm and added velocity. The young right-hander was sitting mid 80’s with an impressive new slider.
  • Kevin Rauktis, RHP/1B, R/R, Grafton HS, 2022 - Rauktis is a big, tall right-hander that gets downward tilt on his low 80’s fastball. 
  • Travis Moran, OF/RHP, R/R, Wachusett Regional HS, 2023 - Moran has a quick arm that produces a fastball that sits in the low 80’s and a breaking pitch with good spin.
  • Evan Cornelius,RHP/C, R/R, Milford HS, 2023 - Cornelius is a big, physical right-hander that showed off a quick arm, tight breaking pitch and the feel for pitching.

THE DEFENDERS

  • Ben Domineck, 2B/RHP, R/R, Wachusett Regional HS, 2024 - Domineck is a young middle infielder with smoothe actions.
  • Andrew Gardner, SS/2B, R/R, St. John’s - Shrewsbury, 2022 - Gardner is an athletic defender in the middle of the diamond.
