Flaherty is a 5-foot-8, 160 pound right-handed hitting catching prospect. He hits out of an athletic, slightly open stance, with the hands set low. The load is short and allows him to get into a strong hitting position. The bat-path is direct and showcases his quick hands. During the batting practice, Flaherty showed the ability to drive the ball, especially to the pull side, yielding a max exit velocity of 92 MPH.

Defensively, Flaherty was nursing an ankle injury and did not participate.

Flaherty was impressive with the bat! He’s added some muscle since the summer and it shows with his swing.

Starts the swing with a small amount of bat wrap. The hands work well and he shows a good feel for hitting.

The bat has a tee exit velocity of 82 mph. The setup is wide in base, front foot open to start. The hands work free and clean to the ball. The path to the ball is flat, needs to accelerate through contact, as he cuts off his swing. Behind the dish, shows a solid skill set. Threw 61 mph down to second base with a pop time of 2.25. The transfer and foot work is trending the right way. Threw 58 mph across the diamond in the infield. The approach to the ball is done appropriately and he works with soft hands.  Excellent player with his best days in front of him.
