Matthew Lussier: OF/SS, (2023) Dexter Southfield, MA. 5-foot-11, 180-pound lean athletic build. Above average athletic at the plate, the left-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 87 mph. Starts in a balanced wide stance with a smooth controlled load, then uses a small leg kick stride. Bat speed is quick developing, exhibits an uphill loose swing plane and high finish. Had loud contact and found lots of barrels. Gap to gap approach. Above average in the outfield, his best throws to the infield topped out at 83 mph; had soft consistent hands, a clean natural exchange, and athletic quick footwork. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Using a loose quick arm action, showed consistent accuracy to the base from a high ¾ slot. Showed his athleticism during the event with a sub-seven 60 time of 6.8. Turned in another solid event as he is very reliable  in all facets of the game. He has solid at bats, plays multiple positions and runs well.

Above average from the outfield, he displayed a position velocity of 84 mph; has sure hands, a clean exchange, and athletic feet. Fielded the ball out front with athletic movement laterally. Showed a high ¾ slot and a loose arm action with consistent accuracy to the bag. Clocked a time of 7.1 in the 60-yard dash.

Lussier is an athletic 5-foot-11, 180 pound left-handed hitting outfield prospect. He hits out of a wide stance, with the hands set high. The swing begins with a small toe-tap and a pushing of the hands. The bat-path is slightly uphill, with good extension through contact. Lussier showed the ability to drive the ball during the batting practice and produced a max exit velocity of 90 MPH.

Defensively, Lussier was 79 MPH on his throws from the outfield. The feet are athletic and allow him to get into a good fielding position. He transitions well through the play, getting into a strong position to throw. The feet create a direct line with his target and shows a loose arm-swing. He finishes through the play and maintains a good line with his target.

5-foot-11, 180-pound left-handed hitting outfielder. He had a solid performance at the event. The approach in outfield is athletic and online, he is skilled enough to play all 3 spots. He showed the knack for getting off the ball very well in game. He threw 79 mph during the outfield portion of the defensive workout. He ran a 7.1 sixty at the event. The bat has an exit velocity of 86 mph. The setup is wide in base and he gains minimal ground to the ball as it approaches the hitting zone. The hands work well and the path is flat through contact with the baseball. He can also kick to the infield if need be.

5-foot-10, 170-pound, average athletic frame, movements and actions are very smooth. A left-handed hitting outfielder, at the plate, is balanced, feet are even, shoulder width apart. The hands are loose and relaxed, minimal movement to them. The lower half is under control, small pick up and put down, gaining ground, with backside having drive to it. The swing is level through the zone, line drive approach, spaying it from field to field. The hands stay inside the baseball, lets the baseball travel, took a solid batting practice. The exit velocity was clocked at 85 mph and ran a 7.10 sixty-yard dash. From the outfield threw 81 mph, from a clean over the top slot, arm works with easy effort. All throws downhill and on target. The transfer is clean, with no wasted movements. Solid looking left-handed hitter.

The 5-foot-9, 165 pound left-handed hitting outfielder really showed well. In the outfield, the arm showed life and carry at 75 mph. The actions are athletic and the foot-speed is there, showcased by his 6.9 sec 60 earlier in the day. At the plate, the tee exit velocity was 79 mph. The stance begins spread and open. He then moves into a strong position to hit. From there, the swing is loose and shows a lot of juice. This is a guy to follow for sure. He's very athletic and the hit tool is already plus.

5-foot-9, 155-pound left-handed hitting outfielder and pitcher. Ran a 7.17 sixty on the laser at the event. The approach in the outfield is athletic and online. Threw 74 mph from right-field to the plate. The ability to handle the routes and get off the ball are present in the outfield. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 74 mph. The setup is wide, front foot open to start. The front foot closes down as the ball approaches. The path is simple and flat to contact. The frame needs to add strength. On the mound, the fastball sat 69-70 mph. The spin pitch is big in shape, sitting 61-62 mph. The changeup is a work in progress. The delivery is online with the feet and above 3/4 in slot. The lift is repeated, glove pull as he spins through the action. Needs to be more linear to the catcher.

Lussier is a 5-foot-9, 170 pound prospect.  The left-handed hitting outfielder had one of the more impressive exit velocities, at 85 mph off the tee.  He hits out of a square, balanced stance, with the hands set high above the back shoulder. He uses a quiet, short load to get the weight to the back side.  The hands move into a strong position to hit before heading into the hitting zone on a flat plane. The result, is a swing that produced a lot of hard line drives.

Defensively, he was 74 mph from the outfield.  The feet are active as he works to attack the ground ball. He breaks down well, with the glove in a good position.  The transition to the throwing position is clean and he creates a good line with the target. The arm-swing is quick and he finishes well through the play.

On the mound, he uses a short, simple delivery to get balanced and in line with home plate.  He gets down the mound well, with a long arm-swing. The fastball comes at hitters from a high arm-slot and sat 72-75 mph.  The breaking ball was a sweeping pitch that sat 66-68 mph. He also featured a change-up at 64-66 mph.

5-foot-9, 155 pound left handed hitting outfielder and right-handed pitcher. Positionally, ran a 7.26 sixty on the laser at the event. Threw 75 from the outfield with an aggressive and athletic approach to the ball. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 75 mph. The setup is wide in base, small pick up and put down of the front foot as the ball approaches the hitting zone. The path is uphill to contact, needs to be flattened to improve plate and contact coverage. On the mound, the fastball sat at 72-76 mph. The spin pitch sat at 66-67 mph and the changeup sat at 59-60 mph. The delivery is online with the feet, and quick in tempo. The slot is above 3/4 and the tracking of the front shoulder needs to improve. The arm works clean and free.
