Evan Bernardo: 3B/RHP, (2024) Malden Catholic, MA. 5-foot-10, 160-pound athletic lean build. Projectable during batting practice, Bernardo had a max exit velocity of 87 mph. (62.0 mph bat speed average). (21.6 mph hand speed average). Begins in a balanced wide stance with a small load, then uses a small leg kick. Bat speed is developing, exhibits a flat loose swing plane and good extension on his finish. He found multiple barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap aggressive approach. In the infield, his best throw was registered at 73 mph. While catching, has consistent feet, soft developing hands, and a natural transfer. Showed consistent accuracy to the base with a high ¾ slot and a loose arm action. In the 60-yard dash, recorded a time of 7.93. Capable on the mound, used a short consistent arm action and a high ¾ arm angle while showing developing arm speed. Feel type pitcher who uses some effort. Has a consistent balance point with falling off shoulders. Lands closed with a falling off finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 70-73 mph and topped out at 74 mph; shows control arm side around the zone and running action. (Max spin 1837; Avg 1610).
