5-foot-7, 135-pound right-handed hitting catcher. Did a good job at the event, as he hustled and bounced around. Threw 63 mph down to second base during the defensive portion of the event as he needs to continue on his throwing program and get stronger. Pop time of 2.21 during the defensive portion of the event. The receiving has gotten better since the winter and he does a good job softening the catch. Needs to continue to practice securing the catch and blocking. Offensively, tee exit velocity of 68 mph. Sets up with his feet wide, picks up and puts down the front foot as the ball approaches. The swing is long, out and around to start. Physical strength can help minimize that. Needs to keep the hands higher as he initiates the barrel. Ran a 5.2 down the line on his dig, working to quicken that is a priority.
