Boza is a right-handed hitting catching prospect. He hits out of a wide, slightly open stance with the hands in a good position. He uses a leg lift to stack the weight over the back leg before starting the swing. The bat works on a quick, flat path to and through the hitting zone. During the batting practice, he showed the ability to work gap to gap, with a max exit velocity of 89 MPH. He also ran a 7.96 second sixty.
Defensively, Boza had a velocity of 77 MPH, with a pop time range of 2.1-2.4. He begins with a solid catching stance. The feet are square, the glove is in the center of the chest, with good balance. As he transitions to throw to second base, the feet drift toward third base. The ball exchange is low, closer to the belt causing the arm to remain lower. The finish is moving toward third base causing some inconsistencies with his throws. With some adjustments to the footwork and the exchange you should see throwing become more consistent.
