Jake Sweeney: OF/RHP, (2024) Assabet Valley Regional Tech, MA. 6-foot, 155-pound athletic lean build. Projectable and capable during batting practice, Sweeney clocked an exit velocity of 82 mph. (60.1 mph bat speed average). (21.8 mph hand speed average). Starts in a balanced wide stance with a controlled load, then uses a small stride. Bat speed was developing, showed a flat loose swing plane and level finish. Found some barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap aggressive approach. Athletic and capable in the outfield, his best throw of the day was clocked at 80 mph; shows developing soft hands, developing athletic feet, and a natural clean exchange. Movements laterally were developing athletically and he fields the ball out front. Had a high ¾ slot and a loose consistent arm action. Recorded a time of 7.18 in the 60-yard dash.
