5-foot-10, 140-pound, wiry strong athletic frame. The hands and wrists have strength to them. The top tool is his ability to really swing the bat, swing is flat and loose through the zone, finishes high with one hand. The approach is more line drive from gap to gap. The stance is even, uses a small controlled leg kick, gains ground with stride. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 85 mph, with more in the tank as he gets stronger. In game performance was good collecting a double and single. Defensively, has good feet, work well with hands, gets around the baseball, works low to high. The feet move throughout, arm action is clean on the backside, works out of a higher slot, clocked at 78 mph. The feeds and turns were advanced from both sides of the bag, looked to be more comfortable from the second base side. Off the mound, hands start high, work downward with rocker step, move back up with high leg raise which has coil to it at its peak. The arm works out of a higher slot, fastball was clocked at 75-77 mph, with the curveball at 62-65 mph. The baseball comes out of his hand well, pounded the zone with both pitches and worked quickly. Projects for me as an offensive second baseman, good follow can play on both sides of the field.
Home-First: 4.81
Exit Velocity: 85 MPH
7/19/16
Flashy left-handed hitting second baseman. Handled the pivot very well in the double play session we had at the event. Threw 75 mph across the infield with accuracy and carry. The glove is very solid and he likes to be free with it, which I like. Ran a 4.9 down the line on a dig to first base, which will have to improve. At the plate, tee exit velocity of 77 mph, as the frame needs strength as he matures. The set up is wide and slightly open, the bottom half is under control. The path is flat to the ball and he handles the bat, just needs to get stronger. On the mound, the fastball was 70-75 mph with arm side run. The spin pitch is a 62-64 mph and the changeup is 67-68 mph. Pitched with an abbreviated Luis Tiant delivery, turning his back to the hitters at times. The slot is ¾ and the arm works well. Showed good rhythm and direction to the plate. 1.3 to the plate in the stretch.
11/15/15
Left-handed hitting middle infielder who showed good actions on Sunday. In the field, he showed very good athleticism and approach to the ball. Threw 69 mph across the field and showed a skilled glove with the proper approach. At the plate, the swing needs strength to it. The hands work and they are clean. Tee exit velocity of 70 mph. Sets up slightly open with an even base, has high leg kick as the ball approaches. As he matures and grows physically look for him to have a very good skill set.
