6.28.2017

6-foot,190-pound left-handed hitting outfielder and pitcher. Defensively, threw 86 from the outfield with carry and accuracy. The approach to the ball and ability to defend is appropriate to a corner outfielder. Showed good athleticsm on the field. Ran a 4.49 down the line on his dig to first base. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 81 mph. The swing is clean, bat is simple to the ball and he attempts to stay inside the ball at contact. Solid tools to hit. On the mound, he was one of the bright spots of the event. Fastball touched 86 mph with arm side action to it. The spin pitch was 72 mph, showing the correct shape. The changeup was 74 mph, needs spin fix to bring out the fade and pronation. Delivers the ball out a slightly higher than ¾ slot. The arm is loose, short and the backside, quick out front. The lift is athletic, repeated and direct.  This guy is a sleeper on the mound. Additional innings could aid his development on the mound.

6-foot,185- pound potential 2-way prospect who hits left and throws left. On the mound shows a plus ¾ arm slot with a clean arm swing. The direction of his feet are done well. The tracking is appropriate and he shows a good feel for repeating and his pitches. The fastball has good arm side action to it, sitting at 80 mph. The breaking ball is 11/7 in rotation with good shape, touching 71 mph. The changeup is a plus pitch with fade and action at 73 mph. Threw strikes and was under control throughout. Positionally, threw 83 mph from the outfield, showing good athleticism and feel . The bat is simple and has a good path to it, tee exit velocity of 84 mph. Hits out of a wide base and gets to his front foot a bit early. The hands work well and the path is flat to the ball. I like the swing. Ran a 3.8 thirty.  Good looking player

Much  improved skill set since the last time I saw him. Took and excellent batting practice, as the left-handed swing is clean and under control. Didn’t get the results he was looking for in the game, but the swing itself is efficient. Tee exit velocity of 85 mph, and the frame has improved with strength. Sets up with a wide base and high hands. The path is direct and his feet are under control throughout the swing. Ran a 4.59 on his dig to first base. Threw 79 mph from the outfield, where he shows a good feel and the routes to the balls are done properly. On the mound, pitches out of a ¾ arm slot, with a slight bounce of the hands as he goes into leg lift. The delivery is repeated. The fastball touched 79 mph, with arm side run to it. The breaking ball is big, touching 66 mph. More fastball hand speed is needed to make the pitch sharper with better deception. The changeup is 66-69 mph, needs to have the same arm speed as his fastball. The delivery is athletic and clean, I really like how the arm works. With strength and innings, this guy could be a very good follow. 1.50 to the plate in the stretch.
2/20/16
5-foot-11, 167-pound average athletic frame, has plenty of room for future development. A left-handed pitcher, the arm action is free, easy and very clean. The delivery is smooth, repeatable, works out of a natural ¾ slot. The fastball was 74-76 mph, down in the zone for strikes, with some sink to the arm-side. The tempo of delivery could be picked up. The velocity should climb as he gets stronger and his arm action is pretty clean. The secondary pitches have good action to both of them. The curveball was thrown at 62-66 mph, with good spin and changeup had proper fade at 64 mph. Offensively, he hits from taller, even stance and his hands are set at shoulder height. Path to the ball is level to up, it’s a smooth left-handed swing. The tee exit velocity was 79 mph, had a middle of the field approach. In the outfield, he was aggressive attacking the baseball, footwork was good, fielded ball out front and step through was online. Clocked at 76 mph, throws were online, gave the catcher something to handle. Ran a 4.28 home to first, athletic strides.
6/30/15
Versatile athlete who played in the outfield and pitch from the left-side. Swung the bat well in the game and during batting practice, tee exit velocity of 73 mph. The path is clean and flat out of a simple set up. Ran a 4.50 home to first and a 7.50 60-yard dash. In the outfield, threw 77 mph with carry and length. On the mound, fastball got to 75 mph and he showed a slurvy breaking pitch at 65 mph. The form of the pitch is good. Delivery is easy and repeatable as and up and down approach. Developing as a two-way player should be considered.
