Chatelle

Chatelle is a physical 6-foot-3, 205 pound right-handed hitting two-way prospect. He hits out of a wide, squatty stance, with the hands set just off the back shoulder. A knee slide starts the swing and stacks the weight over the back leg. Chatelle is a strong athlete, with good hands, producing an exit velocity of 85 MPH during his round. He takes a direct, flat path to and through contact, maintaining balance throughout.

Defensively, Chatelle was 77 MPH on his throws across the infield. The feet are athletic and he moves well laterally. He breaks down behind the ball in a good fielding position. The hands are soft transitioning through the play. The arm-swing is loose and he finishes through the play.

On the mound, Chatelle uses a simple delivery, with good tempo. He gets to a balanced position at the top and separes well. As he heads down the mound, he uses a ¾ arm-slot that gives his fastball sitting 76-78 MPH late sink. The breaking ball is a big 12/6 pitch that sits 64-66 MPH and mixes in a change-up at 65-67 MPH.

He uses a 1-handed finish after release. On the mound, the fastball sat 72-73 mph. The spin pitch is 61-62 mph, big in shape. The changeup is 63-64 mph and still developing. The delivery is online with the feet and slot is above 3/4 in height. The direction of the top half is on track, small amount of recoil after he lets go of the ball.
