8/4/16 Super athletic right-handed hitting outfielder standing 6-foot-2, 180-pounds. Matt has plenty of tools and the skill set to be a high level Division 1 guy. Needs to be a bit more aggressive with the bat in the game, looks like, at times, he is just trying to make contact. He needs to cut it loose. The setup is even and he has some bat wiggle but the path is short and simple. Ran a 6.96 and has more in the tank with his running, as I’ve seen him better. In the outfield, he is reliable and gets off the ball very well. Has enough arm strength to play an of the 3, as he threw 85 mph from out there. I like the skill set, would like to see him let it come out in the game. Very interesting guy to follow. He pitches as well, something to see, in my opinion, as he has feel on the mound.
6/28/16 Athletic right-handed hitting outfielder who can really play. Ran a 4.23 down the line on a dig to first base. Threw 84 mph from right field with carry and accuracy. Played a solid centerfield in the game and showed the ability to get off the ball. Ran the bases well, with good base stealing instincts during the game. At the plate, tee exit velocity of 93 mph, as he has serious hand speed to the ball. The set up is even footed and the path to the ball is quick and direct. Stays on the ball with his eyes at contact, very well done. Took a solid batting practice. Is a high level prospect for me.
Right-handed pitcher who sits in the low 80's out of a 3/4 arm slot. The arm is clean and fast. Shows good rotation and spin to the breaking ball at 11/7. The changeup has the right rotation and has fade to it. Easy leg lift and drive towards home. Body is thin now but projects to add weight to it. Plays centerfield, plenty of arm strength and carry to his throws. The foot speed is good and the instincts are good. The swing is loose out of a slightly wide base setup. The hands are direct to the ball and he is a spray hitter now. With added strength he can become a gap to gap hitter. Excellent prospect and student.
