8/19/18

6-foot, 195-pound left-handed hitting first baseman and pitcher. Continues to impress, ran a 4.48 down the line on his dig to first base. The glove is solid at the bag, advanced for his age. The feet work well and he has a good feel for the position. Threw 83 mph across the diamond during the defensive portion of the workout. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 94 mph. The setup is wide in base, pick up and put down of the front foot. The foot stays elevated for timing purposes as he tries not get the front foot down too early. The path is clean, would like to see him keep his front side on the ball longer, comes off the ball and loses bat at times. On the mound, the fastball touched 84 mph, minimal arm side run to the pitch. The spin pitch is 65-67 mph, correct in shape. Needs additional fastball hand speed to the pitch. The delivery is online with his feet, above ¾ in slot. The lift is athletic, quick-in tempo. The tracking comes offline prior to foot strike. The arm works clean and freely. The glove side is soft. Good looking two-way prospect.

2/18/18

6-foot,195-pound left-handed hitting first baseman and right-handed pitcher. On the mound, the fastball touched 82 mph and has downward sink to it. The spin pitch is 67 mph, needs more fastball hand speed to the pitch. The changeup is 75 mph and developing nicely. The delivery is online with his feet, the front shoulder needs to be tracked to the catcher longer, as he comes off the target. The slot is above ¾ and works freely. The lift is repeated, small coil at the top of the lift. Defensively, very solid at first base, advanced skill set defensively at his age. Threw 83 mph across the diamond. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 89 mph. The path is simple and the bat plane has lift in it. The hands are quick and have good life to them. Solid 2-way prospect at a higher level in college.

12/10/17

6-foot, 190-pound left-handed hitting first baseman. Another excellent showing for Max at the event. The glove is solid, moves well and can make all the throws at the bag. Threw 81 mph across the diamond. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 90 mph. The hands are strong and the path is flat and simple through the ball. Starts with the feet even and the hands relaxed. Uses a small pick up and put down of the front foot as the ball approaches. The bat has serious juice to all fields, excellent prospect with the bat. Ran a 7.59 sixty at the event. High follow for all schools.

10/22/17

5-foot-11, 185-pound left-handed hitting first baseman. Serious chance to be a high level guy as he matures.  The bat has a tee exit velocity of 91 mph. The set up is slightly spread and he uses a big pick up and put down of the front foot as the ball approaches. There is a great deal of action on the bottom half, he will have to calm that down as he matures and sees good secondary pitches. The path is flat, slight lift and the bat has serious buggy whip to it. He is very aggressive with the barrel. I love the fact he whips the bat and he is left-handed. Ran a 4.68 down the line on his dig to first base. The glove is outstanding at first, moves well around the bag and has plus feel for the position. Threw 82 across the diamond with ease. Excellent prospect and a big follow.

3/05/17

5-foot-10, 175-pound left-handed hitting, right-handed throwing first baseman. Showed extremely well at the event. The feet work around the bag, showing he has a feel for the position. The glove is solid and he shows a clean and accurate throwing arm. Threw 75 mph across the infield with carry. Ran a 4.53 thirty at the event. The bat has good life to it at his age, tee exit velocity of 81 mph. The stance is wide at the base. The path is flat to the ball and through it. Finished with a 1-handed follow through after contact. Would like to see him minimize the action on the bottom half a little, as he uses a knee to knee approach for timing on the bottom half. With physical strength and maturation this guy should be a very good college prospect.

2018 FUTURE GAMES
6-foot, 195-pound left-handed hitting first baseman. One of my favorite players, goes about his business, very low maintenance and extremely talented. Ran a 7.36 sixty on the laser at the event. The glove and feet are solid around the bag, he has a very good feel for playing the position. The instincts on defense and on the bases are good. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 90 mph. The setup wide in base, pick up and put down of the front foot as the ball approaches. Occasionally, holds the front foot in the air a bit before putting it down. The hands work well, clean and fluid through contact. The path is flat and simple. The front side does come off the ball at times, forcing him to lose barrel, needs to stay on the ball longer. Excellent prospect across the board for me.

PROCASE
6-foot., 195-pound left-handed hitting first baseman. Defensively, shows very well at our events. Threw 82 across the diamond to third base with carry and accuracy. The feet and glove are solid around the bag. The foot speed needs to continue to improve, as the sixty time on the laser was 7.85. The bat has a chance to be special, tee exit velocity of 90 mph. Sets up even with his feet and drifts slightly to his front foot as the ball approaches the hitting zone. The path is clean and smooth to the ball, needs to finish aggressively through contact with the ball. Solid prospect who continues to improve.
