6/5/2018

6-foot-1, 200-pound right-hander who showcased himself the best he has up until this point. Athletic righty who touched 87 mph with a fastball with run and sink to it. The spin pitch is good as well, sitting at 73-75 mph with good depth at the plate. The changeup has improved, sitting 80-81, probably still a tick hard but the action of the ball is appropriate. The delivery is quick in tempo and online with the feet. The glove has a good deal of action to it, coming across the hitter. The lift is athletic and repeated. The front shoulder stays on the catcher at foot strike and he showed solid command of the ball. Trending the right way, this guy is making a jump at the right time.

PROCASE

6-foot, 200-pound right-handed pitcher. Pitches out of a plus ¾ slot, coil at the top of the lift. There is effort in the delivery, but he stays online to the plate. The shoulder is tracked and the shape of all his pitches are correct. Needs to work on a long toss program as there is more velocity in the arm. The fastball touched 83 mph with sink and run. The breaking ball has a good shape, needs more fastball hand speed to it, as its 70 mph. The changeup sat at 79 mph and has fade and sink to it.

2017 FUTURE GAMES

6-foot, 200-pound right-handed pitcher who we have seen a number of times this past fall and winter. The fastball touched 82-84 mph with arm side run to it. The spin pitch is slurvy, sits 70-72 mph. The changeup is a work in progress. The delivery is online with his feet and the slot is slightly above 3/4.  The lift is athletic and use a coil at the top prior to driving into foot strike. The arm works clean and free. Throws strikes and projects very well. No red flags, the makeup is very good and he wants the ball. Long toss program is integral to his development.

3/8/2017

6-foot, 200-pound right-hander out of the Northeast Baseball Program. This is the second time we have seen Michael pitch in the last month, and he didn’t disappoint. Pitches out of a ¾ slot, and has a small hip coil at the top of the lift. Does an admirable job of tracking his shoulders to foot strike but can improve in that department. Fastball touched 84 mph with plus arm side run. The breaking ball rolls at times, as he needs to make the ball break out in front of his head.  The pitch is 69 mph. The changeup showed better this time, sitting at 78 mph, probably too hard but getting better. Good looking prospect, high upside.

2/20/2017

6-foot, 200-pound right-hander with a ¾ arm slot and good hand speed in his delivery. The delivery has small coil at the top of the lift and crossfire to his feet in direction. Gets a ton of action on his fastball due to the crossfire and rotational delivery. The fastball was up to 82 mph and its heavy. The spin pitch is a sweepy breaking ball, the pitch sits at 67 mph. Has a small amount of hand wrap on the backside of his arm swing on the spin pitch, minimizing that will help the pitch jump in velocity. The changeup is a work in progress as it sits 76 -77 mph, which is too hard so I assume a grip tweak is in order. Stays behind the pitch with his hand well throughout it though. Excellent looking 2019 arm.
