Nicholas Genese: LHP/1B, (2025) Austin Prep, MA. 6-foot-1, 210-pound. (71.4 mph bat speed average). (21.5 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced quiet stance with a quick load, then used a small leg kick. Bat speed was quick, had a simple upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. Solid in the infield, displayed a velocity of 77 mph; showed a natural exchange, consistent feet, and sure hands. Fielded the ball out front with athletic movement laterally. Used a loose arm action with a high ¾ slot. On the mound, showed a loose arm action and a high ¾ arm angle with consistent arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows some effort. Had slight running action. (Max spin 2062; Avg 1828). His 1/7 slider had late action. (Max spin 2054; Avg 2038).

Setup included a small load and a balanced wide stance. Bat speed is developing, shows a flat long swing plane and good extension on his finish. Produced loud contact and found lots of barrels. Aggressive gap to gap approach. In the infield, had developing hands, a clean natural exchange, and developing footwork. Movements laterally were developing and he fields the ball out front. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a short arm action and a high ¾ slot. Projectable and capable on the mound, used a high ¾ arm angle and a short arm action while showing consistent arm speed. Up-tempo type pitcher who uses some effort. Balance is tall point with an in line shoulders in his delivery. Lands closed with a falling off finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 76-77 mph; shows running action and command arm side around the zone. (Max spin 1945; Avg 1866). His changeup (71-72) has gradual fading action and arm side command. His slider (70-71) has glove side around the zone control and slurvey action. (Max spin 1970; Avg 1918).

Projectable and athletic during batting practice, the left-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 90 mph. (67.6 mph bat speed average). (21.6 mph hand speed average). Begins in a balanced wide stance with a small load, then uses a small stride. Bat speed is developing, has a loose uphill swing plane and good extension on his finish. He produced loud contact and found multiple barrels. Aggressive gap to gap approach. Projectable and capable while in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 73 mph; had a natural exchange, soft developing hands, and consistent developing footwork. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were developing. Used a high ¾ slot and a loose arm action while showing consistent accuracy to the base. Recorded a 60 time of 7.53 at the event. Projectable and capable on the mound, showed developing arm speed, he had a high ¾ arm angle and a short consistent arm action. Up-tempo type pitcher and uses some effort. Showed consistent balance point with in line shoulders. Lands closed with a falling off finish. Threw his fastball 76-77 mph; showed arm side control and running action. (Max spin 1992; Avg 1830). Had sweeping action and glove side around the zone command on his curveball (69-70). (Max spin 1955; Avg 1600). Had arm side control and gradual fading action on his changeup (63-64). 

5-foot-11, 190-pound left-handed hitting first baseman and left-handed pitcher. The approach in the infield is solid as he has a good feel around the bag and showed a reliable glove. The arm is clean, throwing 71 mph across the diamond. The bat has an exit velocity of 82 mph. The setup is wide in base and the path to the baseball is flat. The front foot has a small pick up and put down of the front foot as the ball approaches. On the mound, the fastball sat 67-69 mph. The delivery is online with the feet and the slot is above 3/4. The lift has a bounce to it at the top, small coil of the hip and he goes into foot strike. I like his skill set.
