Watson Mexico: OF/LHP, (2024) Oakmont, MA. 6-foot-1, 175-pound lean athletic build. Projectable and athletic during batting practice, the left-handed hitter's best exit velocity was 92 mph. Starts in a wide balanced stance with a wrapping load, then uses a small leg kick. Had above average developing bat speed, uphill loose swing plane and good extension on his finish. He barreled up lots of balls with loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Above average and athletic in the outfield, he showed the ability to make throws to the bases at 86 mph; had soft sure hands, a clean natural exchange, and athletic consistent footwork. 5-foot-11, 150-pound, young, lean, wiry strong athletic frame, with plenty of room for added weight. A left-handed hitting outfielder, at the plate, uses a spread out approach, sits and is balanced throughout. The hands are relaxed at then shoulder height, more of a flat setup. For timing uses a small pick up and put down, swing is level through the zone, finishing higher with two hands. the approach is more middle to pull side, the baseball jumps off the bat for his age, had an exit velocity of 87 mph and is a plus runner for his age at a 7.16 sixty-yard dash. From the outfield the approach is aggressive, attacks building momentum in the transfer. The arm action is long and clean working from a higher 3/4 slot, all throws are downhill. The arm was clocked at 84 mph, serious strength. Will need to close down the front side, wants to pull of. Look for him to be one of the better players in the class of 2024.
