6-foot-2, 220-pound, big, physical athletic frame. A well proportioned athlete, legs and hands have serious strength to them. A right-handed hitter who has above average power to all fields. The stance is slightly open, feet wider than shoulder width. The hands are set at shoulder height, hands are loose and bat starts in a flat position, loaded up ready to hit. For timing keeps his hands back and has a controlled high leg raise, gains ground with stride foot, uses his entire body to hit the baseball. Balanced throughout, stays closed and gets the hands to the ball, the approach is middle to pull, has a big time juice in his hands. The tee exit velocity was 93 mph with easy effort to it. Defensively, feet are good around the bag, hands are soft when receiving throws. Big time prospect, legit power threat.
Forty-Yard Dash: 5.47
6/28/16
Physical right handed hitter who showed a very good skill set defensively around the bag. The feet handle all the throws and he is athletic enough to cover some ground around the 4-hole. Threw 78 mph across the diamond, with a clean and strong arm. Ran a 4.5 down the line on a dig. The bat has serious juice to it, 95 mph tee exit velocity. The set up is even with his feet, and even hands. The path is flat to the ball and he is strong through contact. The bottom half has a glide to stride action, which I think he will need to adjust to handle high level college pitching, as he is a high level prospect for me. Power is hard to come by, left or right-handed, and he has it from the right side.
