7/26/17
5-foot-9, 145-pound, average athletic frame. The shoulders are squared off, back has some width to it, look for him to fill out and get stronger. The top tool is the ability to swing the bat. The swing and approach gets segmented at times, but seems to find the baseball with barrel routinely. The stance is wider than shoulder width, hands are quiet at shoulder height. For timing uses a very small knee buckle into a small stride. The swing is short to the baseball, flat through the zone and finishes high with one hand. The barrel stays in the zone a long time, gets through it with good extension out front. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 75 mph and 4.59 from home to first, runs ok. In game performance was good, collecting a single and a double. Defensively, the arm action has average length, works out of a ¾ to high ¾ slot, it's clean and works freely. The arm was clocked at 75 mph, throws had a downhill flight to them. The footwork was good on the transfer, gains ground and steps through aggressively. Good looking young player.
