6/26/24
6-foot, 175-pound left-handed pitcher and right-handed hitting first baseman. Ran a 7.34 sixty at the event. On the mound, the fastball sat 77-78 mph with arm side run to it. The spin pitch is 66-68 mph and big in shape. The changeup is a developing pitch for him. The delivery is repeated and out of a 3/4 slot. The tempo of the delivery is solid and he shows a clean arm swing. The direction of the front shoulder needs to improve as he spins off. At the plate, exit velocity of 79 mph as physical strength gains are needed. The set up is wide in base and the swing path is uphill. The feel around the bag defensively is solid, throwing 77 mph across the diamond. The glove is reliable and he shows well there.

Josh Matta: LHP/1B, (2026) Falmoth, MA. 5-foot-11, 175-pound lean athletic frame. Solid at the plate, Matta's 84 mph exit velocity ranks him 3rd at the event. (67.6 mph bat speed average). (20.7 mph hand speed average). Begins in a balanced athletic stance with a low handsy load, then uses a big leg kick. Bat speed is developing, exhibits an uphill loose swing plane and good extension on his finish. He created loud contact and found multiple barrels. Gap to gap approach. Athletic while in the infield, made throws up to 79 mph; had a natural exchange, developing hands, and developing athletic footwork. Movements laterally were developing and he fields the ball out front. Showed a loose arm action and a high ¾ slot with consistent accuracy to the bag. Projectable on the mound, had a consistent loose arm action and a high ¾ arm angle with developing arm speed. Feel type pitcher who uses some effort. In his delivery his balance point is tall with in line shoulders. Lands closed with a falling off finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 79-80 mph; showed arm side command and running sinking action. (Max spin 2056; Avg 1997). Shows sweeping action and glove side around the zone command on his curveball (62-63). (Max spin 2024; Avg 1511). Shows gradual fading action and arm side command on his changeup (67-69).
