Maryland Top Prospect Games II
Body: 6’3’’, 175 pounds. Strong, athletic, projectable frame.
Hit: RHH. Hits from a balanced, slightly open stance at the plate with a smooth back load and high leg kick. Creates some hand separation and stays mostly short to the ball with strong lower half involvement. Quick bat speed with a slightly uphill swing path. Gets extension through contact staying behind the ball with balance and a strong two-handed finish. Middle to pull-side approach.
Power: 84 mph exit velocity per TrackMan during BP. Major strength and power present up the middle and to the pull-side.
Arm: RH. INF - 76 mph. Throws with shorter arm action from a low to mid three-quarter slot.
Defense: Plays through the ball well with relaxed, active feet and actions. Fields the ball out in front, funneling quickly to the belt. Shows excellent range side to side with the ability to throw from various arm slots.
Run: 7.73 60-yard time.
Delivery: Controlled side-step wind-up with a high leg kick into a tall, compact balance position. Long down-to-out stride down the mound with slight uphill shoulder tilt and clean hand separation. Lands slightly open to the plate against a stiffer front side. Strong lower half with a hard, athletic finish.
Arm Action: RH. Super quick arm speed, full arm circle and high three-quarter slot. Throws with intent.
FB: T83 mph, 80-82 mph. Slight run on two-seam with an average spin rate of 2228 rpm per TrackMan.
CB: 72-74 mph. Shorter, hard 12/6 down action with an average spin rate of 2051 rpm per TrackMan.
CH: 75-76 mph.
MD Top Prospect Games 6.19.18
Athletic, lanky 6-foot-1, 175 pound body type and frame. Moves well at third base and plays through the ball. Showed good hands with a slight glove tap in exchange. Shorter arm actions throwing from a low three-quarters arm slot. Up tempo side step wind-up and delivery. Fast leg kick and quick down to out lower half. Creates some arm speed through release and hides the ball well with his shorter arm actions. Throws from a high three-quarter slot with regular effort. Lands square with an athletic finish. Fastball was up to 76 mph. Breaking ball showed gradual break and 11/5 shape at 64 mph. Changeup was 67 mph with some dive.
