MD Preseason All State
Strong frame at 5-foot-10, 240-pounds. Hits from the right side with a slightly closed, athletic stance. Hands set away from the body and show some looseness and freedom to load. Small stride forward landing closed off, uphill path with a high finish, and showed some pull side power. Exit velocity was 87 mph. Active pre-pitch prep hop in the infield. Approaches the ball low and presents glove out front to catch showing soft hands. Clean exchange with a short arm action that gets through from a high three-quarter arm slot. Positional velocity was 67 mph. Home-1st time was 4.82. Small rocker step to start the slower paced delivery. Balance point is average and Solomon drives himself off of the rubber towards the plate. Slight uphill tilt to the shoulders and showed a shorter stride landing slightly closed at foot strike. Short quick arm action and throws from a high three-quarter arm slot with effort. Fastball sat at 72-75, touching 76 mph, and stayed up. Would benefit from finishing the pitch out front bringing it down in the zone. Had feel for the breaking ball and located that with consistency at 60-62 mph. Curveball showed some depth with 11/5 shape. Changeup had solid arm speed and was downhill at times sitting at 69-71 mph.
