Maryland Freshmen Free Showcase
Body: 6’3”, 200 pounds. Strong, physical, projectable body type.
Hit: LHH. Hits from a balanced, slightly open, tall stance at the plate. Smooth back load with solid hand separation and a slightly uphill swing path. Smaller leg kick stride with quick hands and fast bat speed through contact. Stays behind the ball really well with balance throughout and strong lower half involvement. Hands stay inside the ball well with whippy type barrel action through contact and a strong two-handed finish. Gap-to-gap line drive approach with strength to the opposite field gap.
Power: 88 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Present and projectable pop to the middle of the field with more to come as the body continues to fill out.
Arm: RH. INF - 80 mph. Throws with short arm action from a high three-quarter slot.
Defense: Plays through the ball well with active feet. Fields the ball in closer to the body and funnels to the belt with quick, clean exchanges. Moves well around the bag with soft hands and fluid actions on double play feeds.
Run: 7.68 60-Yard Time.
Delivery: Pitches from the stretch. Belt high leg kick with a short arm action to the plate. Generates much torque and falls through to the first base side of the mound. Consistently worked in the zone with both pitches thrown out of the same arm slot.
Arm Action: RH. Short arm action out of a mid three-quarter slot.
FB: T85 mph, 82-84 mph. Arm side fade. Average spin rate of 1837 rpm per TrackMan.
CB: 69-73 mph. Average spin rate of 2154 rpm per TrackMan.
CH: 74-76 mph.
