Mervilus

2.18.17:  Mervilus is 5-8 with a lankier athletic frame, hits from the right side from a slightly open balanced stance. Very short stride on line, slight load back, some rhythm to swing. Good hips and balance to swing, short to ball with a level line drive swing. Good approach, worked middle of the field, exit velocity was 85. At short, clean footwork, good lateral footspeed, above average hands. Clean transfer, throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a short arm action, position velocity was 82. Ran a 6.90 60.

2.21.15 - Chrystian Mervilus is a 5-foot-4 125-pound 2B/MIF.  He showed smooth and quick actions from the infield with soft hands.  He threw from a ¾ arm slot at 70 mph with accurate throws with some carry. He had a short and compact swing from an athletic set up with excellent balance.  He had an exit velocity of 70 mph and ran a 7.72 60.  Mervilus showed a good foundation and needs to continue to develop and get faster and stronger, but showed great potential in the 2018 class.
