Maryland Top Prospect Games West

Body: 5’11”, 175 pounds. Athletic, well put together frame with quality movement patterns throughout his game.
Hit: RHH. Wide, slightly bent and balanced stance with the hands shallow near the ear to start; stretched back beyond the shoulder for load positioning coupled with a controlled leg hang to initiate the bat head through a flat and slightly uphill path into the hitting zone. Elevated to pull with a lofty approach and leverage at the front of the plate. Hit into a stiff front side and came up out of the posture at times. On time with the turns yielding occasional juice for extra-bases on pitches up in the zone.
Power: 83 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Doubles power when getting pitches out over the plate.
Arm: RH. INF - 77 mph. Moderate takeaway and high ¾ slot with accuracy across the diamond and repeatability.
Defense: Adequate pace approaching with a low posture and soft glove hand out in front. Didn’t try to do too much and allowed early momentum to take him downhill through the ball; fluid defender with projection to stick on the left side.
Run: 7.47 60-yard time.

Delivery: Left foot starts slightly in front of right on the rubber, working extremely quick to a side rocker position and immediately upward into leg lift. Transfers energy well with efficient movement patterns and occasional torque when everything works on time. Really gets over the front side and finishes his pitches with authority, all signs pointing to extra velocity on the way soon.
Arm Action: RH. OTT, quick slot with present arm talent.
FB: T82 mph, 79-82 mph. Average spin rate of 1893 rpm per TrackMan. Occasional arm-side run in on the hands of righties.
SL: 69-72 mph. Average spin rate of 1953 rpm per TrackMan. Short, lateral shape with gradual tilt to it.
CH: 76-78 mph. Similar arm action to the FB with great sell, creating advanced deception in the delivery.

Preseason All-State Session II

Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 5’10”, 156 pounds. Athletic
Hit: RHH. Hits from a balanced, square stance at the plate. Creates good hand separation with a small leg kick load and longer stride. Stays short to the ball, maintaining good balance with a slightly uphill swing path. Shows quick hands and fast bat speed through the zone. Stays behind the ball well with good lower half involvement. Gets good extension through contact finishing with two hands. Middle to pull side line drive approach.
Power: 77 mph exit velocity from the tee. Some pull side pop present with more developing.
Arm: RH. INF - 80 mph. Throws with short arm action from a mid three quarter arm slot.
Defense: Works through the ball with a controlled approach and athletic base. Fields the ball out in front funneling quickly to the belt. Clean exchange with good footwork and some range. Showed soft hands and smooth double play feeds.
Run: 4.22 home-to-first time.

Delivery: Small, side rocker step wind up into a belt high balance point. Delivery is somewhat whippy as deception is evident. Use mostly his top half without generating much torque from his lower half. Glove separation is solid and balanced. Constantly landed in-line with his target and showed athleticism in his follow through.
Arm Action: RH. Throws out of a mid three-quarter arm slot.
FBT79 mph, 75-79 mph. Arrow like action out of the hand.
CB: 58-62 mph. Loopy 11/5 shape.
CH: 70-72 mph. Subtle arm-side run.

5-foot-9, 150-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a short leg-hang stride. Displayed a flat barrel path through the zone with a line drive approach working the middle of the field routinely. Registered a bat exit velocity of 74 mph and ran a 7.57 60-yard dash. Showcased athletic defensive actions with accurate 78 mph arm strength across the diamond. The righty sat 78-79 from a high 3/4 arm slot on the mound with some hip coil to his delivery. Also showed a curveball with 11/5 rotation at 62-65 with good arm speed and a changeup at 59-61 at a slower arm speed. Displayed solid command of all three pitches.
