Maryland Preseason All-State Session II

Body: 5’11’’, 170 pounds. Twitchy athletic frame with good proportions throughout.
Hit: RHH. Balanced, even stance from a slightly upright position. Utilized a very quiet approach at the plate with not a lot going on while still being extremely smooth in the box. Repeatable lift and replace stride and launch from the shoulder through a precise, slightly vertical path into the hitting zone. Peppered the middle of the field with good burst through impact, recorded a 58% line drive rate per Trackman Baseball. Showed command over the inner half of the plate with lightning quick hands (23.1 mph hand speed) while turning in a 77% on-plane efficiency (bat to ball skills). Profiles as a true top of the order candidate with some sneaky power developing.
Power: 89 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Doubles power at the moment with more intent to be had, Power is coming.
Arm: RH. OF - 84 mph. INF - 84 mph. OF - Quick, fluid high ¾ slot with no restrictions in the arm circle. INF - After a glove tap, worked from a “v-slot” into a high ¾ release with accuracy across the diamond; quick trigger.
Defense: OF - Choppy steps on the approach and played behind the baseball, getting downhill at the right times. Comfortability with his body in space, with appropriate routes on every rep during defensive evaluations. Trusted the glove hand which funneled into the chest line from the left side of his body. INF - Good pace from the left side working right to left from a low, momentum-filled posture. Kept the feet moving allowing for easy and accurate throws and solid pace on plays in either direction. Projects with positional flexibility both in the OF and INF giving himself more chances to get on the field early.
Run: 7.02 60-yard time.
