6.25.13 Downs is a 5-foot-11 sophomore from Brother Rice HS. Plays at a high level with a good program who made the state finals in 2013. Worked from ¾, almost low-3/4 slot. Lots of arm side run and sat between 76-80mph. He consistently filled up the strike zone with all three pitches. Breaking ball has sweeping action from his lower slot (65-66). Delivery was controlled and arm was loose. Definitely one to follow as he adds pounds and strength. Expect him to jump in velo next year.
