5-foot-10, 175 pound strong prospect. Over the top arm slot falling to the first base side of the mound. Fastball sits 77-79 mph, curveball 68-69 mph. Great actions in the outfield with footwork and glove, accurate arm at 77 mph. Ran a 4.68 home to 1st. Quick hands with good use of lower half at the plate. Bat speed registered at 81 mph.
7/23/13 Popp had a great spring this past year and has attended his first showcase for us this summer. Had a good overall performance. Ran well 7.03 and was 87 mph off the tee. Projects best in the outfield. Had a long arm action and the ball had some carry. 77mph. Showed clean transfers. At the plate shows short stride and easy compact swing. Short bat path with pop. Should hit quite a bit.
