Nathan Gilpin: RHP/OF, (2023) Brighton, MI. 6-foot, 185-pound. Solid confident in the box, the right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 88 mph. Starts in an open tall stance with a controlled load, then uses a toe tap stride. Bat speed was present, showed a rotational swing plane and good extension on his finish. Had loud contact and found some barrels. Base hit line drive approach. Fluid from the outfield, he displayed a position velocity of 81 mph; shows in control fluid feet, sure hands, and a clean lengthy exchange. Movements laterally were average and he fields the ball out front. Had a long arm action and an-over-the-top slot with consistent accuracy to the bag. Capable on the mound, used low ¾ arm angle and a long arm action while showing good arm speed. Tall-and-fall type pitcher who shows high effort. Even shoulders and a tall balance point. Shows upright balanced finish. Threw his fastball 77-79 mph; showed running action and command around the zone with straight movement. (Max spin 2078; Avg 1970). Throws a 12/6 curveball (65-68) with down in the zone command and gradual action. (Max spin 2326; Avg 2163). His flat changeup (72-73) has slight fading action and down in the zone control.
