Mayer is an athletic 6-foot-1 175-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Missouri’s 2020 class.  He ran a 4.69 home to first and has an 87 mph exit velocity.  At the plate, starts with wide base, loads agains back side with leg kick, in line stride, short the to the ball with level path to extension, line drive gap to gap during hitting evals.  On the infield, short over the top arm slot, athletic actions with soft hands, quick transfer and throw staying under control, feet and exchange in sync, positional velocity 76 mph positional velocity, accurate throws.

7/26/16 - Mayer is a 5-foot-2 110-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Missouri’s 2020 class.  He ran a 8.64 60 and a 5.27 home-to-first.  He has a 67 mph exit velo. At the plate, simple and repeatable, no wasted movement, balanced set up, short path to contact, gap-to-gap approach, body under control.  On the infield, 63 mph positional velo, short over the top release, fields ball in athletic position, ready to throw, arm works, fluid transfer and throw, mostly accurate throws.  Projectable frame able to add strength with already athletic actions.
