At the plate, wide stance, short stride with controlled leg kick, aggressive hands, strong lower half, swing produce consistent middle of the field line drives druing batting practice. At first base, 73 mph positional velo, quick high three quarters release, quick to the ball with fluid footwork, mostly somewhat accurate throws.
6/28/16 - 6-foot-1, 225-pound strong bodied catcher. Offensively, right handed hitter, wide, crouched over stance, leg lift timing trigger, maintains balance throughout swing. Bat speed, uphill bat path, line drive approach, fluid rhythm, finds barrel; exit velocity clocked at 89 mph. In the infield, flashed clean footwork, short, high ¾ release; clocked at 72 mph across the diamond. Behind the plate, ¾ slot, higher stance, pop times recorded between 2.29-2.40. Clocked at 67 mph from the crouch. Also, ran an 8.15 laser timed 60.
6/4/14 - Carswell is a 6-foot, 190-pound right hand hitting catcher. He had a POP range of 2.50 - 2.69. His position velo was 67 MPH. At the plate, Caleb starts with an athletic approach with a smooth load. He uses his lower half well and has a line drive, gap-to gap approach. His exit velo was 73 MPH.
