Positional Profile: LHP/OF Highly projectable southpaw that makes for an uncomfortable at-bat.
Body: 6-foot-5, 170-pounds. Long, lanky frame with lots of room to add size and strength.
Defense: Clean footwork and natural outfield actions
Arm: Left-Handed. OF - 82 mph. Long, loose and whippy in the back coming through a ¾ slot with much more arm strength to come.
Hit: Left-Handed. Stands straight up at the plate with a slightly wide base. Uses a big and rolling load before launching his hands on a flat path through extension with some length.
Power: 80 mph exit velocity from the tee. Ball jumps off the bat at times. Line drive approach.
Run: 4.47 runner home-to-first. 

Delivery: Tall/fall type delivery, level shoulders, creates extension downhill, creates deception working closed off from target, uses long levers to make an uncomfortable at-bat.
Arm Action: Left-Handed. Long arm action, high 3/4 slot.
FB: T78, 75-78 mph. Heavy action, ball jumps onto the hitter because his length, pounds the zone.
CB: 62-63 mph. 1/7 shape, flashed feel to spin.
CH: 67-70 mph. Natural arm-side run, feel.

Whiteside is a left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class with a lean frame with long limbs at 6-foot-4, 155 pounds. Whiteside’s frame is long and projectable with arms and legs coming at the hitter. His delivery is controlled, directional with some rhythm, downhill tilt, accelerates down the mound, loose arm action, high three-quarter release. Fastball sat 68-72 mph at the event, showed some arm side run, located at the bottom of the zone, curveball was 59-62 mph at the event, mostly gradual action, occasional sharp bite when located down in the zone, 1-to-7 shape.

1/15/18 - Whiteside is a 5-foot-11 120-pound left-handed hitting first baseman in Kansas’ 2021 class.  He ran a 4.90 home to first and has a 71 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, hands walk away from stride, reverse to tap, body stays under control, swing produced mostly pull and middle of the field contact.  On the infield, 67 mph positional velocity, high three quarters release, loose arm action, fields ball out front, quick catch and throw, active feet, soft hands. On the mound, Whiteside works from a high three quarters arm slot, loose arm action, repeats release point, in line stride, body stays under control, fastball at 62-64 mph, showed a 1-to-7 breaking ball with gradual break, change up has slight arm side running action, 52-58 mph, long limbs with ability to put on strength and arm action would suggest increases as he continues to mature.
