2/20/16 - Welshchmeyer is a 5-foot-10 205-pound right-handed hitting catcher and third baseman in Missouri’s 2017 class from Blair Oaks HS.  He ran a 4.59 home-to-first and has an exit velo of 84 mph. At the plate, balanced set up, short stride, efficient movements in load, level path to extension, drove balls consistently gap-to-gap during batting practice.  Behind the plate, 2.12 to 2.27 pop times, 73 mph positional velo, over the top release, fluid transfer and exchange, arm works, throws have carry. On the infield, 73 mph positional velo, over the top release, clean transfer, fluid footwork creating momentum to throw.

7/22/15 - Welschmeyer is a 5-foot-10 220-pound right-handed hitting catcher in the 2017 class.  Welschmeyer runs a 8.62 60 and has an exit velo of 77 mph.  At the plate, balanced stace, controlled load with low leg lift, loose hand, feel for the barrel.  Behind the plate, pop times between 2.45 and 2.65, over the top release, fluid exchange, keeps hands high, fluid footwork, 64 mph positional velo.  At first base, clean exchange, over the top release, 66 mph positional velo.
