7/18/17 - Stephens is a 6-foot-3 180-pound right-handed hitting shortstop and right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2019 class. He ran a 7.95 60 and a 5.29 home to first.  He has a 78 mph positional velo. At the plate, balanced stance, short in line stride, repeatable, level bat path through the zone to extension, gap to gap line drives, flashed pull side power.  On the infield, 76 mph positional velo, three quarters arm slot, fluid actions with clean transfer, made all plays cleanly, mostly accurate throws, momentum after the catch, works behind the ball. On the mound, Stephens has an over the top release, throws downhill, in line stride down the mound, throws with regular effort, keeps arm high before release, smooth tempo, commanded fastball, 78-80 mph, breaking ball has gradual 11-to-5 break, 60-64 mph, change up at mostly 69-71 mph, occasional sink.
