2/16/19 – Ast has an athletic build at 5-foot-11, 170-pounds, and is a right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2019 class. He ran a 7.51 60 and posted an exit velocity of 84 mph. During hitting evaluations, Ast has a quiet load, across the body stride, level bat path, minimal head movement, remains balanced throughout, showed a middle approach during batting practice. Defensively in the outfield, Ast attacks the baseball, momentum towards target, clean transfers, long clean arm action, high three-quarter release, positional velo of 79 mph, fairly accurate throws.
