During batting practice, Short uses a leg lift to get into his load, compact swing, works inside the baseball, gap-to-gap approach, high finish with hands. On the infield, Short has good footwork, clean transfers, high ¾ arm slot, positional velo of 64 mph and accurate throws. On the mound, Short gets into his backside, slight stride across the body for deception against right-handed hitters, over the top arm slot, fastball 76-79 mph, changeup is 62-64 mph, curveball has 11-to-5 shape, 56-62 mph.
