Top Prospect Games: As he has before, Henfling looks to be one of the most sure handed fielders we have seen over the past few years. Henfling shows advanced footwork with range to both sides, to go along with extremely quick hands and a quick clean transfer and release. While not an overly strong arm (73-mph), his quickness makes up for it. Offensively, the undersized 5-foot-7, 130-pound Henfling has good rhythm at the plate with an athletic setup with a smooth load, taking a short path to the ball and finding the barrel (top exit velocity of 74-mph).  Helfling’s swing is the type that has the ability to consistently put the ball into play.

Holiday Underclass: Henfling once again showed plus fielding skills at the Holiday Underclass Showcase. At shortstop, Henfling showed above average range to both his back hand and glove hand sides with diving stop to each side; and soft hands with a lightning quick transfer and release, delivering accurate throws across the diamond. He also showed to be a consistent outfielder, taking good angles to the ball and playing through with all throws accurate and on a line.
Offensively, Henfling has good rhythm at the plate with a controlled, level line drive producing swing. His bat takes a short part to the ball, producing gap to gap line drives.
On the mound, Henfling shows feel for three pitches. A fastball that topped at 77-mph with late sink action, as well as a 11-to-5 early moving breaking ball and a change up down in the zone with arm side movement.

SEMO Prospect ID: Henfling is an undersized 5-foot-6, 125-pound two-way player, who as he continues to mature physically, has ability to play at the next level.

In the field, Henfling shows a good approach to the ball and some of the softest and quickest hands we have seen in some time. He has range to both his forehand and backhand side, while playing through the ball. At the plate, Henfling has a slightly open stance with a smooth load and long stride. He uses his lower half very well, producing a controlled, level swing and the ability to hit the ball gap to gap.
On the mound, Henfling’s fastball sat in the 72-75 mph range. His breaking ball (62-64 mph) was thrown at near fastball arm speed showed early 10-to-4 break. He also showed a 68-70 mph change up with near fastball arm speed and arm side movement.
