Tall, strong-legged reliever powered 89-91 mph fastballs to the plate from a high three-quarter slot with good down plane. A hard 76-78 mph curve was his top pitch. Tight rotation with 2400+ spin rates. Induced plenty of bad swings, especially against left handed hitters during his two inning, four strikeout relief appearance. Bunz is a Day Three (rounds 11-20) prospect for this year’s draft.
7/17- Verbally committed to Wichita State.
5/22/16- 6-foot-4, 205-pound two-way player that ran a 8.01 60 yard sprint. Square stance, leg kick trigger, slight arm bar. Compact line drive swing plane. Posted an exit velocity of 81 mph off of tee. Feet and hands work for 1st base. Accurately threw across at 71 mph to 3rd base. On the mound, topped out at 80 mph with a two-piece arm action that is short on the backside and long out front. Ball is on a downhill plane with some arm side life. Changeup showed a chance to be an advanced pitch in the future. Heavy sinking action with good arm speed at 70-73 mph. 65-67 mph breaking ball has good depth when released out front.
8/6/15- 6-foot-2, 185-pound left-handed hitting 2-way player. 8.01 runner. Athletic set-up in box. Leg kick trigger. Balanced swing. Solid pop to pull side of field. Short restricted finish. 75 mph exit velocity off tee. Solid fielder at first base. Usable hands and feet. Easy actions. 71 mph arm strength across diamond. Good balance and direction in delivery. Slight downhill plane with run on fastball at 73-76 mph. 12/6 breaking ball has solid shape and avg. depth. Changeup is thrown near fastball arm speed with wobbly action at bottom of zone.
