Has an uphill loose swing plane, explosive bat speed and good extension on his finish. Barreled up lots of balls with loud contact. Aggressive gap to gap approach. Behind the plate, his best recorded throw to second was clocked at 78 mph; showed a clean natural transfer, athletic in control feet, and soft developing hands. displayed next-level catching ability by boasting a 1.87-1.89 pop time. Calm, athletic setup. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a high ¾ slot and a loose arm action. 

Nathaniel Leighton: C/OF, (2022) out of Exeter, NH. is a 6-foot-1, 195-pound catching prospect. At the plate, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 91 MPH. Leighton starts in an open, wide stance with relaxed hands. He uses a smooth load and a short stride to start the swing. The bat path is slightly uphill and Leighton showed good bat speed during his round. That bat speed produced a lot of hard contact, especially to the pull side. Behind the plate, he showed a velocity of 78 MPH and a pop time range of 1.81-1.91 on his throws to second base. His initial stance is athletic with the glove set in the middle of the chest. As he transitions to throw, he shows a fluid exchange, athletic feet, and sure hands. The arm swing is a short ¾ slot and he finishes over his front leg. He also recorded a 60 time of 7.1.

Began in an open stance with a controlled load, then used a controlled stride. Bat speed is explosive, shows an uphill swing plane and good extension on his finish. Created loud contact and found lots of barrels. Aggressive approach. Athletic in the outfield, he showed a plus arm and had life on his throws with a position velocity of 88 mph.Showed  a clean exchange, athletic feet, and sure hands. Fielded the ball out front with athletic movement laterally. While catching, he made strong, efficient throws to second at velocities up to 81 mph; had a clean exchange, quick footwork, and sure hands. Showed his ability to throw runners out with an efficient pop time of 1.88. Average flexibility and athletic setup. Showed a high ¾ slot and a very quick arm action with consistent accuracy to the bag.  He should be on everyone’s radar.
