6-foot-2, 180-pound left-handed pitcher. The frame projects well and there are signs of improvement as he has progressed. The fastball touched 75 mph, arm side run to it. The spin pitch is big, needs more fastball hand speed to it, 66 mph. The changeup is 70 mph, plus action and feel for it. The delivery comes at you out of a higher than ¾ slot. Methodical lift, does a good job of being direct with his feet and tracking his front shoulder appropriately. The arm has a small stoppage on the backside, minimizing that will aid his progression. The delivery is sound and he stays with his arm.
Academic Games-NY (June 3, 2016)
Athletic 6-foot-1, 170-pound left-hander. Pitching- Solid pitcher’s build, clean arm action, comes out of ¾ slot, uses height to create downward plane, tight curveball at 65-68 MPH induces weak contact, changeup at 69-71 MPH shows late run, difficult for batters to catch up with barrel, will add velocity to fastball at 75-78 MPH with engagement of lower body at balance point. Threw a ton of strikes and can work both sides of the plate; pitchability is there and knows how to get outs.
7/26/16
Positionally, tee exit velocity of 78 mph. Hits out of an even base and high handed setup. The path is long to the ball and he cuts himself off after contact. Needs to let the barrel get all the way through the ball. Ran a 4.5 down the line on his dig to first base. Threw 74 mph from the outfield. On the mound, fastball sat between 70-72 mph. The breaking ball was 64-66 mph with the makings of good shape. The changeup is 63-64 with minimal action to it. The delivery is methodical and he has a hard pull of the glove side as he gets into foot strike. The backside bottom half has a little collapsing causing him to pitch uphill.
